This class introduces XGRIDS for Revit, a solution leveraging 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) and APS Design Automation for Revit to streamline scan-to-BIM workflows. At its core is the Lixel Cyber Color (LCC) handheld device, which combines LiDAR and 360-degree RGB capture to generate ultra-realistic, large-scale 3D models with centimeter-level precision. These models, created using 3DGS technology, provide smoother, more efficient alternatives to traditional point clouds and integrate seamlessly with Revit for advanced BIM modeling. Participants will explore how LCC’s Multi-SLAM and AI-powered features improve data collection success rates, enabling accurate reverse modeling, design enhancement, and project management. Through practical demonstrations, the class will showcase dual-window synchronized camera modes for issue tracking and conflict resolution, along with AI-driven tools for semantic segmentation and automated batch modeling. The session also highlights how transitioning from Revit’s desktop plugin to cloud workflows—enabled by a simple login button—expands capabilities through APS. Cloud integration with ACC and BIM360 supports model comparison, collaboration, and efficient batch processing. Attendees will gain insights into how APS and cutting-edge hardware streamline workflows, reduce errors, and improve efficiency in high-stakes AEC projects.
