2010 - Esri and Autodesk Forma: Improving Design with Geographic Data and AI Services
This session will show how Esri used the Autodesk Forma API to respond to the urgent demand from architects and designers for timely, authoritative geographic data to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and expressiveness of designs in the Forma ecosystem. Using Esri’s ArcGIS geospatial cloud and the Autodesk Forma APIs, we will show how we:
  • Built the extension.
  • Used with the Forma Element API to create imagery, roads, and buildings from ArcGIS data sources.
  • Managed the translation between coordinate systems and operational models.
  • In closing, we will discuss our roadmap and vision for use of Esri’s GeoAI to further improve design quality by generating content from imagery and other geographic sources.
